'If a tree falls in the wilderness is there a sound? Similarly, if the story hadn't been published, no one else would have heard it,' Christie said. '(The reporter) had no legal or moral duty to publish. Had he not, there would have been no public hatred.' By Darren Bernhardt, The StarPhoenix, April 08, 2005
So by this logic If there was no reporting of child abductions there would be no outrage, if there was no reporting on the 9-11 bombings there would be no outrage, if we just banned reporters from reporting life would be wonderful and we would all live in the heartland. I thought lawyers were supposed to be intelligent.
I have a pet peeve. It has to do with personal responsibility. David Ahenakew said some terrible things. He said them. His high blood sugar did not say them. His diabetes medication did not say them. The reporter did not say them. The Canadian justice system did not say them. David Ahenakew said these words and David Ahenakew must take responsibility for saying them.
